The quality of the spring directly determines the flexibility and service life of the rotary joint.

The seal of the rotary joint and the spring have become an inseparable part from the beginning of the use of graphite sealing rings. Q-type rotary joint is the prototype of early rotary joint. To date, it has not left this sealed mode. The spring pushes the sealing ring and the upper surface of the shaft to produce point contact and friction. Thus forming a sealing ring. After the seal is damaged by friction, the spring pushes the seal forward. Until the spring force is not enough to push the seal ring to seal.

The choice of spring is very important. If the spring is too hard, it will cause the seal to be easily damaged; if the spring is too soft, it will cause insufficient thrust and insufficient contact between the seal and the sealing surface on the shaft. One of the problems that we must pay attention to is that the spring can continue to work under minus and high temperature. Especially the springs in high-temperature rotary joints, if they are not handled well, will become weak at high temperatures, causing no problems when the rotary joints are at low temperatures, and dripping and leakage will occur at high temperatures.


The thickness and hardness of the spring are also very important because of the need to pay attention to the force. If the spring is too thick and the number of turns is too large, the internal space of the rotary joint will be insufficient; if the spring is too thin or the number of turns is too few, the spring thrust will not be enough, which cannot meet the sealing requirements of the rotary joint.
